Canine Good Neighbour Evaluation

Open to ALL Dogs and their people too!  All dog/handler teams that pass the evaluation will receive a certificate from the Canadian Kennel Club.  Pre-registration is requested as spots can fill quickly. ALL dogs are welcome, regardless of breed or parentage. Puppies must be 6 months old.

 

Pre-Registration Cost: $30 per dog ($35 day of registrations pending space available)

 

The CGN evaluation will test your dog on the following 12 exercises:

 

• Appearance and Allowing Gentle Grooming

• Reaction to Passing Dog

• Accepting a Friendly Stranger

• Politely accepting petting

• Out for a Casual Walk

• Walking through a Crowd

• Sit/Down and Stay (long line)

• Come when Called (long line)

• Reaction to Distraction

• Supervised Isolation

• Walking Politely through a Door/Gate

The CGN Evaluation requires you to bring the following equipment and material with you:

​

• Proof of Vaccinations – This may be a photocopy of an email from your veterinarian

• Dog License – This may be the license or a paper certificate

• Grooming Tool – Brush or Comb

• Dog waste bags

• A Leash – Between 2-6 feet long and may be leather, fabric or chain

• Collar – This must be a flat buckle, slip or martingale - made of fabric, leather or chain
