Basic Obedience classes are structured for dogs over 16 weeks of age who have not previously attended training classes with Quinte Canine or who would like to brush up on the basics to gain consistency and reliability. Dogs must be dog and people friendly. Dogs who are reactive toward other dogs or people are not appropriate for this class.

 

Classes are 1 hour for 6 weeks and are $199+HST ($224.87 including taxes). Each new student will also receive a copy of Doggie Language: A Dog Lover's Guide To Understanding Your Best Friend by Lili Chin

Basic Obedience classes fill some very important needs in your dog's life including stimulation (mentally and physically), bonding and gives your dog structure. We will help to ensure a confident, sociable and well-mannered pet that people, and you love to be around.

 

In the class we will learn basic cues (sit, come, down, stay, loose leash walking, leave it and more).  We will work with you and your dog to get reliable and fast responses while having fun and a few laughs.  We cover basic canine health, grooming, care, feeding and behaviour habits (jumping up on people, excitable behaviours, etc).

 

The important skills you will both learn in class can and will be taken out into the real world. Each week you will be given very simple instructions on how to practice the learning’s at home in short effective sessions.
