Yvonne with Meshu & Wrangler

Yvonne has always had a strong passion for dog training. Her passion grew over many years while participating in different dog sports including Rally Obedience, Tricks, and Scent Detection.  Continuous professional development, as well as ongoing training have assisted Yvonne in growing Quinte Canine.  Yvonne has trained thousands of dogs in both group and private classes and has helped countless dogs complete successful, comprehensive science-based behaviour modification programs.

Yvonne is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge & Skills Assessed (CPDT-KSA) with the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT).  CPDT-KSA indicates that a dog trainer has passed a comprehensive knowledge based exam, has completed a skills assessment examination, documented and logged hundreds of hours of dog training experience, upholds the highest ethical standards, is required to continue education through re-certification every three years and is committed to current behavioral science and its application to dog training and behaviour.  The CCPDT examinations are the only valid and reliable, accredited (NCCA) psychometrically sound examinations for dog trainers recognized internationally.

Formally educated and previously working as a Social Worker for over 10 years; has given Yvonne the experience and knowledge to be able to work directly with all persons, regardless of abilities.  Yvonne focuses, not only on the dogs learning, but the handlers learning and development.  Remember: there are two ends of the leash, each just as important as the other.

Speaking locally, throughout Ontario and internationally, Yvonne’s ability to infuse fun into dog training is of great importance to both the dogs and owners she assists. Yvonne brings smiles to her student's faces, while helping to build confidence on both ends of the leash. Her passions within the field include scent detection, fear based behaviours and dogs with cognitive and physical disabilities.

“Great leaders of history, the people that have really commanded respect and inspired their followers, were not violent, terrifying tyrants like Saddam Hussein and Stalin, but calm, decisive, consistent yet inspiring figures, like Gandhi and Nelson Mandela."              ~Jan Fennell
