Quinte Canine is now carrying The Canny Collar!!!!

SUPER EXCITING NEWS!!! Quinte Canine is now carrying the Canny Collar!

If you're looking for an easy solution to your dog pulling problems, look no further than the Canny Collar. You'll be in good company. Since the Canny Collar was launched, more than half a million dog owners worldwide have discovered the simple pleasure of walking their dogs on a loose lead. Join them today and make walking your dog easy!

The Canny Collar is not only easy to use but effective and does not turn the dog head sideways! It is also a transitional tool. Your dog learns to walk nicely on a flat collar since The Canny Collar transitions into a flat collar at any time. Unlike other head collars The Canny Collar is available is 7 sizes, from teeny tiny to the giants! The quality is far beyond any other collar.

How does the Canny Collar compare to other head collars?

Issues with the gentle leader are: • The nose loop rides up and irritates the eyes • The adjustable neck piece increases the chances of the collar stretching due to pulling on the leash which can lead to the collar no longer utilizing the submission pressure point behind the ears as well as the dog escaping • Leash pressure causes the head to tilt on an unnatural angle which can lead to soreness in the neck and back • The plastic clip is not sufficient to hold back strong dogs and as such powerful dogs can break the collar • The nose loop is fixed to apply a small amount of pressure the whole time the dog is wearing it • The transition from training collar to flat collar is fussy at best. For example, the dog is on a flat collar and begins to pull. The handler needs to stop, put the training collar on, remove the leash from the flat collar and reattach it to the training collar. When the dog is walking well you have to repeat the same steps above in the reverse. During this transition time dogs can bolt and escape.

Issues with the Halti are: • The plastic clip is not sufficient to hold back strong dogs and as such powerful dogs can break the collar • The nose loop and cheek straps often ride up and irritates the eyes • The adjustable neck piece increases the chances of the collar stretching due to pulling on the leash which can lead to the collar no longer utilizing the submission pressure point behind the ears as well as the dog escaping • Leash pressure causes the head to tilt on an unnatural angle which can lead to soreness in the neck and back • Even when fitted properly it is possible for some body shapes to duck out of the collar when they struggle • The transition from training collar to flat collar is, again, fussy at best • Because of the design many dogs become comfortable with leaning in and pulling • The design leaves room for the collar to pull across the dogs neck which can lead to gagging, coughing and choking

How the Canny Collar Solves the above issues: • The nose loop is held in place with a device attached below the muzzle so the loop cannot not ride up and irritate the eyes • The nose loop is relaxed over the dog’s muzzle and does not apply pressure unless the dog is actively pulling on the leash • The nose loop design also allows for a greater difference between pressure on and pressure off whereas the Gentle Leader provides consistent pressure • The leash attaches to the collar behind the head so when pressure is applied on the leash the head is not tilted on an unnatural angle. • The collar is a flat collar design with a buckle clasp which makes it extremely sturdy and durable, in fact to date I have yet to have a dog break this collar (keep in mind the average client is a dog between 60 to 140lbs) as compared to 3-4 gentle leaders and haltis' • The flat collar with the buckle design to the Canny reduces the chances of the collar stretching due to the dog’s pulling on leash which makes it easier to keep the collar in place behind the ears, utilizing the submission pressure point as well as preventing escape • The transition to flat collar is extremely easy and safe because the leash is never removed. When the dog is walking well the handler removes the loop from over the nose and the collar acts as a flat collar. If the dog begins to pull the handler stops and places the loop back on the nose. • The Gentle leader reduces the force of pulling on leash by roughly 40% to 50%, the Halti by roughly 30% to 40%, the Canny Collar reduces the force by anywhere between 60% to 80%. • When the dog does pull on the leash the pressure is directed down, over the muzzle and not across the neck which makes this one of the only head collars I feel safe using for dogs who are prone to collapsible trachea

TESTIMONIAL

“A challenge that every Dog Shelter has is getting each dog the walks that they need while keeping their volunteers safe. This is no different for the GTHS and a tool that has helped tremendously with that is the Canny Collar. This effective walking tool not only allows each member of our Dog Pack to get the much needed time out of kennel and the exercise that they need. It does it while being gentle on their bodies. It also gives me as the Dog Care and Adoption Supervisor peace of mind that our dogs are out in our community happy and safe. The Canny Collar is our " best friend" here at the GTHS!” Sincerely Lynne Patterson - Dog Care and Adoption Supervisor - Georgian Triangle Humane Society
